Ive lost my flaps at sea. (dont ask :)) So I need to replace them - I guess I just buy some 1mm plexiglass and tape it back on? - Is there not a better solution? Ive also had my Solo full of water a couple of times. What the quickest and best way to empty it whilst still sailing? Ive used the self-bailers ok but just wondered about the method (downwind upwind etc)

Dear Solo Sailors Im a tad confused as to when and why to use the traveller. I think that once I have set the sail to the correct shape, I should then use the traveller to move the boom over the side deck (instead of using the kicker?), but I'm not sure when I do this - and by how much? Is it in light or heavy winds etc. I'm on the heavy side for a helm - will that make a difference?

Ive just bought my first Solo and I find i struggle to get under the boom when tacking. Now I know I need to work on my technique but there is only so much this body of mine can do. :) As I just want to social sail for a year to begin with what alterations can I do to the Solo to bring the boom higher? My thoughts are move the mast foot further aft and put both chocks aft of the mast also. Any advice or thoughts would be welcome.
