I am staying with my loop and stopper tie down for the clew. The extra head clearance is great and the confidence of slightly reduced power has a huge effect. That double block looks a bit " poorly" and needs replacement. The rope looks a bit antique and replacement with dyneems would remove stretch- knots are fine Choosing light colour rope alllows two reference marks to be made against the standing line- giving a setting for "on" for the beat- and the offwind top batten set correctly run position. Trying different masts is possible with existing options available off the shelf and a used market if it doesnt work. Doesnt trying varying how much the board is pulled up give simiilar results as a custom made softer option? If you have the diy skills to make your own boards- iplease ignore the above!😉

I remember one of the Salcombe lot riggibg a knotted rope from the central table to the gunwhale to help with reaching the coffee table grips.
