As a rule, I'd use a contact adhesive like Thixofix but a call to Winders or P&B, who supply boats with progrip floors, might reveal a slightly less messy alternative.

Chris, I wonder if there would be any apetite to have the 'last block pumping' rule written into the sailing instructions at a couple of events at the beginning of next season. This would gather some meaningful feedback that could be taken to the AGM?

I would hazard a guess that Ollie's proposal was, in part, prompted by the recent OK Worlds in Lyme Regis. The OKs have had the 'last block pumping' rule for some time and have even got a bespoke Allen roller fairlead for their mainsheet jammer to facilitate the process. The idea of the rule isn't to prevent the 'one pump per wave to promote planing/surfing', it's to prevent the persistent 'micro pumps' that sailors excuse to themselves as 'trimming'.

Watching Ian, above, illustrates that you don't want to be wearing a PFD or spray top that will catch on the sidedeck and stop you sliding into the boat like a seal! 🐬 (Yes, I know it's a dolphin but they haven't got a seal emoji!)

Make sure the kicker is right off before trying to get back in. It'll let the sail flog-out to leeward and provide a bit of resistance to pull yourself in against.
