In Go Faster tips and questions.
Hi - I'm new to a Solo, having been a (poor) Laser sailer before. Managing to race about once a week so hoping to improve. Sadly onlyone other solo at my club, and they're never out! I've noticed that when tacking it seems quite easy, if not exactly to stall, certainly not to come out as fast as I would like. I vaguely remember someone mentioning it before, possibly as a hasard of the fully battened main? If anyone could share any key pointers for good tacking maintaining boat speed, I'd be very grateful. I know there are quite a few videos on youtube, but there don't seem to be any 'sailing a Solo' books around compared to quite a few for teh Laser - is that right? It would be good to have one source covering key basic info about general setup and particularities of the boat. I usually had a laser book for bedtime reading the night before I would sail, and something generally sank in. Thanks Mike
