Due to the foul weather warnings for tomorrow, Ranelagh SC have decided to defer their Down-River race for Solos to another weekend. Being tide-dependent, this will now be a few weeks away with the date to be confirmed in due course.

Due both to a clash of dates in the south, and the shortage of Thames Valley events going forward we have decided to include the Chipstead SC open into the Thames series. Their event takes place on the 10th June this season and they have very good home support.

I have received this from Bob Yates at Upper Thames and while Bourne End has traditionally been an OK class stronghold, there has always been a Solo presence and promoting the Solo could be good for the class in the Thames Valley now that other fleets have been lost. "This Regatta is still known as Bourne End Week, but recognising that even the most enthusiastic sailors have other demands on their time, the program this year has been condensed to 3 days sailing over the May Bank Holiday weekend (May 27-29) for all classes except Thames A Raters. All the fun of the traditional river regatta and social program have been retained within this format and I hope it appeals to your members especially those in the Thames Valley and surrounding area".
