Sign up now for the Open Dutch Championship in Medemblik!
From 18 to 20 September 2026, the Solo class heads to the IJsselmeer off Medemblik for the Open Dutch Championship. Three days of close, competitive racing, great company, and the Dutch Champion title up for grabs — and since it’s an Open championship, we’re hoping to welcome a good number of UK Solo sailors again this year. A great chance to test yourselves against the Dutch fleet!
We race on our own course, shared only with the Finn class. At the same time, the performance classes (29er, 49er, 49er FX, Nacra 15, International 14 and International 18) race their own championships on Course B — plenty going on, on and off the water.
Entry is open via Manage2Sail. Don’t wait too long — the earlier you enter, the sooner we know where we stand, and you’ll benefit from the early entry fee too. Enter here
Key info
Online entry closes 14 September 2026; the early entry fee applies up to and including 23 August 2026
Standard entry fee is €110, but early birds pay €90
3 races are scheduled per day, with the first warning signal at 11:00 on Friday and 10:30 on Saturday and Sunday
Full details, rules and the complete schedule can be found in the official Notice of Race on Manage2Sail.
A great social programme too
An ONK is about more than racing alone — the social programme is not to be missed:
Coffee ready every morning before the start
A well-earned beer waiting on the slipway every afternoon
Friday evening: Happy Hour at the legendary café Brakeboer in Medemblik, together with the Finn class — a great chance to get to know your neighbours on the water!
Saturday evening: back at Brakeboer for the Captain’s Dinner — the famous “Blauwe Hap”! A nasi meal with chips, salad and dessert, plus 3 drinks, for just €30 per person. Sign up and pay via Manage2Sail.
Sunday: prize giving and closing drinks at the Regatta Center, straight after the last race
Where to stay
Medemblik and the surrounding area offer plenty of options: hotels, holiday parks, B&Bs, lodges and campsites. See visitmedemblik.nl for details. Staying in a camper or caravan? This is only allowed on the Regatta Center premises (booking and payment required in advance, including tourist tax, electricity and use of the sanitary facilities) — contact the harbour master on +31 (0)227 547 791 or info@regattacenter.com. Overnight parking along public roads or on the dinghy park is not permitted.
See you in Medemblik!
Get your entry in and join the Solo fleet for a great weekend of racing and socialising. We’d love to see you on the water — and at the bar at Brakeboer!
