Solo transom flaps

Ive lost my flaps at sea. (dont ask :))

So I need to replace them - I guess I just buy some 1mm plexiglass and tape it back on? - Is there not a better solution?

Ive also had my Solo full of water a couple of times. What the quickest and best way to empty it whilst still sailing? Ive used the self-bailers ok but just wondered about the method (downwind upwind etc)

Lexan is a really good flexible material for transom flaps, mine are secured with a length of keel band (very short screws!). As Ian said, a length of elastic to a hook is the easiest way to close them.

The quickest way to empty after filling up is a beam reach with the flaps open (assuming there's enough wind - if not, how on earth did you capsize?) 😛
