What's on in October: Southern & Thames Valley areas


3 events and a training day!

October has arrived and we have the last events for the Southern and Thames Valley areas; we have 2 of the open event joint that count for both areas results, this month also we have another NSCA training sponsored day. Please see below all the details and the links to register to each event, as always for any event, if you can please do register early.


Island Barn, Sunday October 4th - Thames Valley Series


Littleton, Sunday October 12th - Joint Southern & Thames Valley Series

  • Registration and NOR:  Solo / Comet Open - Sun 12 October 

  • Entry fee £15.00 per boat. Under 18 £10.00 per boat. The entry fee includes a prize-giving tea after sailing.

  • Registration will be from 9:30am, briefing at 10:30am

  • There will be 4 races with 3 to count. The first race at 11:00am, the second race will follow after the first with a break for lunch and 2 races in the afternoon


Papercourt, Sunday October 26th - Joint Southern & Thames Valley Series

  • Final Area Results Series Prize Giving!  (in addition to day event prize giving)

  • Registration and NoR: Papercourt Sailing Club

  • Entry fee £15.00 including, bacon rolls, lunch, afternoon tea + hot drinks

  • Welcome and briefing - 10.30am

  • Start of first race - 11.00hrs. 4 races, best 3 to count. Prize giving follows.

  • Please login to your sailing club manager account to book. Non-members will be required to create a (free) account.


NSCA Sponsored Training Day, Maidenhead SC

  • There are only 12 places, and it will be on a first come first served basis, so do register early to secure a place.  

  • Register at: National Solo Class Association: Solo Training Day Maidenhead SC.

  • Be rigged and ready by 10:00am; start with rig setting on shore, followed by two sessions on the water

  • Who can enter: any one!

    • All sponsored training sessions are free for current NSCA Members, as it’s part of your benefits as a member.

    • For Non-members, the price for this training session is £25, and you will also receive membership of the National Solo Class Association as part of your entry. This Membership will 'role over ' to the end of 2026. This also provides you with discounts at class sponsors and supporting companies, access future training sessions, as well as supporting the efforts to keep your boat value high, so great value. Payment by bank transfer or direct debit.
