The Midland Champs 2023 will be held at Carsington Water and organised by Carsington Sailing Club, ASHBOURNE, Derbyshire, DE6 1SU

Overview of event:

Friday 23rd June - NSCA Training Day Nations Cup Champion Oliver Davenport will be holding a training session on Solo set up and sailing techniques. His aim is to improve your sailing and give expert advice on getting to the front of the fleet.

This is free to NSCA members and £15 to non-members.

Saturday 24th June – Day 1 Midland Area Championship Race 1 - 12:00 Race 2 - to follow Race 3 - to follow Back to back

Sunday 25th June – Day 2 Midland Area Championship Race 4 - 10:00 Race 5 - to follow Race 6 - to follow Prize Giving - as soon as possible

Our main Midland sponsor Allen has provided a haul of prizes including vouchers, wind vanes, gloves, t-shirts and key rings to be given over the weekend

This year, on top of providing the training day, the National Solo Class Association will provide a cup of tea, or coffee, and a bacon bap on the Saturday morning. A two course evening meal will also be provided at the club on Saturday evening free for competitors. A vegetarian option will be available. Extra places for non-competitors can be booked on the website. The National Solo Class Association, as you can see, has excellent support for the various regions as well as providing the website, online magazine, race reports, news, social media and discounts with various sponsors. If you aren’t currently a member of the NSCA please join and support one of the best classes in the UK. At £25 per year the benefits are amazing.

Campervan spaces are available at the club and you can book online for Friday and Saturday night. Lots of camping sites are available locally in what is a beautiful part of the country.
