Solo 5089 Winder MK1
I have owned this fantastic boat for three years. Sadly, due to family commitments (especially aged parents) I've missed all of the four events I planned to do this year and can't see much racing happening this season.
My club doesn't have a Solo fleet so the boat has only been very lightly used as I normally sail a two handed class. However, 5089 has been great in club handicap events (won some!) and at open meetings has been more than competitive with only my lack of regular Solo fleet sailing being a key issue!
The boat is standard as supplied from Winders and can easily be fitted with an inhaul control if you feel that will help you.
The mast is the unsleeved D+ (lighter) and the boat comes with two North sails, a very good dacron and an open quality P2. (I switched to a C sleeved mast and a North L2 when I got the boat so the D+ and P2 haven't been used in my ownership).
The Winder combi has 10 inch wheels and is extremely good.
The covers (Rain and Sun deep sided hydralite boom up top cover 18 months old, a flat cover, and an undercover) are all in great condition.
The boat is airtight with no leaks. The lead weights are located under the thwarts rather than at the rear of the centreboard case.
There is a storage bag on one hatch cover and a halyard bag mounted on the front tank. The rudder is protected by a padded Rooster Solo rudder bag.
There are a couple of small gelcoat chips which I haven't got round to repairing but I do have the correct P&B gelcoat which I will include.
The boat is located in Teddington SW London.
The price is £3650 which I think represents strong value for a good honest boat with lots of recent additions.
